This website is my personal portfolio - my place on the internet. It's a digital canvas where I showcase my skills, projects, and everything I'm passionate about.
This is the third version of my portfolio. My journey began in 2023 when I deployed my first portfolio, which I had copied from a YouTube tutorial. Later, after passing my SEE examination, I built the second version - this time inspired by and heavily influenced by Leerob's portfolio. Now, with everything I've learned along the way, I've crafted this version from the ground up, blending all my experiences into a site that truly represents me.
Built with Sanity, MDX, Firebase, TypeScript, NextJS and PostgreSQL, this website prioritizes performance, user experience, and maintainability.
Since April 12, 2023
This website is proudly crafted with the following technologies:
I purchased my domain manishtamang.com for this site from Bisup, and the site is deployed on Netlify. The code for this site is open-source and available on GitHub.
A carefully selected set of typefaces contributes to the website's visual identity:
The website's color palette is a result of deliberate selection and feedback, reflecting my personal aesthetic while prioritizing accessibility and a modern feel.
These colors are consistently applied throughout the site to maintain a cohesive and visually appealing experience.
This website leverages several external APIs and libraries to enhance functionality and user experience:
Beyond the core tech stack, the website utilizes the following libraries to enhance specific features:
Being Buddhist myself, from the Tamang community, the prayer flags in my portfolio's navbar hold deep personal meaning. They're not just design elements; they represent a bridge between my cultural roots and my creative expression.
In Buddhism, prayer flags “Lung ta” (རླུང་རྟ་) symbolize peace, compassion, strength, and wisdom. Hung across temples, mountains, and doorways, they are believed to spread blessings and positive energy with every flutter of wind.
In my website, the soft Framer Motion animation recreates that sacred motion, a digital interpretation of the wind carrying prayers. It's my way of letting the design itself breathe, as if every frame carries good intent across the screen, just like the wind does in the Himalayas.
Each color represents one of the five natural elements, harmonizing the inner and outer world:
| Color | Element | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| 🟦 Blue | Sky / Space | Peace |
| ⚪ White | Air / Wind | Purity |
| 🔴 Red | Fire | Energy |
| 🟩 Green | Water | Compassion |
| 🟨 Yellow | Earth | Grounding & Stability |
Together, these colors embody balance and harmony, values I strive to reflect both in my life and in the way I write code. By blending this ancient symbol into a modern interface, I aim to show that design can carry spirit, connecting tradition and technology in one gentle motion.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the following individuals and their work, which have significantly inspired the design and development of this portfolio:

And to many more talented developers and designers whose work has unknowingly shaped my perspective and approach. Thank you all.
